Jesus that is going to hurt, and then there’s his own fees. Still at least he paid for a ski chalet or two for the lawyers.

Oof.
This was always going nowhere, but a libel claim, with no legal representation, using chatGPT.
What the hell was he thinking……

It’s almost like committing multiple acts of sexual misconduct, and then doubling down on it not being sexual misconduct, and then suing for libel against the paper that found quite a lot of evidence of said misconduct, all the whole showing no remorse, is a bad idea.
Wonder if he has £3 mil in liquid assets? Doubt it.
The fact it was 26 people that came forward for the investigation to me means it must have been so many more overall.

I mean doesn’t he have grounds if they published stories about him being an offender and he was proved not to be? Or was he found guilty?

Yikes. I’m not that sympathetic to him (though we should note he was not found guilty and the criminal case was dropped due to lack of evidence) however the idea that anyone bringing a case can be on the hook for £3 million is insane.

Reading the original judgement was damning, and clearly stated that the allegations were true. He was suing The Guardian for £70 million.
Reading this article is seems that he has been the source of his own financial down fall and of the size of this ruling:
>Detailing GNM’s spend, Mr Millar said about 40,000 documents, including audio recordings and transcripts, had to be reviewed as a result of Clarke bringing the case against them. He highlighted a number of “misconceived applications” made by the actor which “required much work from the defendant’s lawyers in response”.
>During the trial, the actor accused GNM – as well as a number of women who made accusations against him – of being part of a conspiracy aiming to destroy his career.
>**This conspiracy allegation “massively increased the scale and costs of the litigation by giving rise to a whole new unpleaded line of attack against witnesses and third parties”, Mr Millar said in written submissions to the court.**
What’s the odds he goes far right to start grifting?

I swear I remember him way back when on Twitter threatening to sue people who criticised his movies.

From what ive gleaned from the article, he has no way to pay the £3mill which is just the start.
He couldn’t afford his legal team anymore, hes had to remortgage his home and im guessing will be even more blacklisted in the industry after this.

I think he’ll end up filing for bankruptcy and losing all the rights to his films.

Would have definitely been better for him to make an apology and stay under the radar.
