      It shouldn’t be voluntary, if a member of the public fraudulently gained as much money as she did, we’d be in prison.

      Fraudulently bill £120m to the government, supported by a “fast track” system for politically connected people, and the senior people say, “well, maybe she should resign”. Let’s not get carried away, eh?

      The thing i most dislike about this is exactly how unsurprised I am. At least if i had ***some*** shock it would at least imply that i’ve got some faith left in the leadership of this country. But no. Nothing.

      They took advantage of the country in a time of national emergency.

      That’s not punishment. For you and me, this is fraud. So along with a jail term, we’d have our assets frozen and be compelled to repay the money with interest.

      Senior tories are hoping she takes the full brunt and we stop looking at far worse cases. Yes, she should resign…in fact all the toadies Johnson stuck in the lords should resign or be forced out. However, let’s not pretend she’s one rotten apple…it was a plan orchestrated by senior tories to defraud us all

      We need to see some prison sentences at some point.

      I mean, there was a pandemic. People were dying. Doctors and nurses were making PPE out of bin bags and this person pocketed millions for PPE they never received. There were real life victims of this crime. There has to be some retribution.

      Resign ???? She needs to be arrested for fraud and put in prison, along with the rest of the scammers involved.

      I wish I had the opportunity to steal £120mil, spin out giving it back for 5 years, collect a salary from the people I stole from, pay it back, fuck off the costs of dealing with my theft with the people I stole from, keep any gains that I’ve made with that money and at the end of it all only be asked to resign.

      Different rules for these guys, I guess.
