They have to, otherwise they run out of topics and fade into irrelevancy even faster.
Huere Schwurbler! Schlächti Verlüürer!
You can not vote and vote and vote again, up until you have the result you wish for. This is democracy, not what-I-want-tocracy.
At best, we can recount, sure.
Let see it this way : IF it would have been that the vote was “no”, would they ask for a re-vote ? No, I doubt it. So dont ask for a re-vote when it’s not what you wish for.
It would be funny if it would require an E-ID to submit a complaint
This was the result, and it counts.
But I would vote for initiatives/referendums to need a greater majority, like at least 60/40 to count, even better a two-thirds majority, so the will of the people would always be crystal clear
If those idiots hate it, I’m glad it passed. 😂
I personally am against e-id.
Since the vast majority of the comments here are from people in favor. I’ve a questions, aren’t you afraid that this will be use against us, like China is already doing?
I’m just trying to have a discussion, I’m no here to atack/provoke people.
Democracy only if it fits to their expectation.
E-ID Zwängerei
While I am pretty certain that the complaint will be (rightfully) denied, I don’t see why everyone is so upset that someone – even if it’s a “Schwurbler” party – is using the available legal means to have a vote result checked for legal correctness.
Without the legal means to challenge a vote result and have it checked by the federal supreme court, there would also be no legal recourse to challenge even an obviously manipulated or clearly miscounted vote result (which is very likely *not* the case here, yes).
Challenging a vote result in court has nothing to do with “being undemocratic”, being “a bad loser”, etc. In fact, it’s actually part of the foundations of our democracy that we have the right to ask that an impartial court should verify that a vote was done correctly.
Also, because such cases have very tight deadlines (IIRC 3 days after vote to file the complaint) and are handled with utmost priority by the cantonal authorities and the federal supreme court, i don’t see any issue with spending a week or two having some of our federal judges make sure the vote is correct. In fact, if the court then says “it’s all good”, that even gives me even more confidence that the vote result is correct.
Finally, any unjustified challenges will likely incur high court costs (usually 4k CHF) for the complainants, so this also discourages any frivolous complaints.
They dont understand that if the swiss government wont do it then some random ass 3rd party company will do it where data is even more at risk and there will come the time where you need to verify yourself on the internet
Should rename them to Massvollidioten
