The Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Homeland War in Bosanska Posavina is celebrated on 6 October. The date of the fall of Bosanski Brod and most of the Bosnian Posavina, which led to the exodus of the Croatian and Bosniak people of the region, was taken for the memorial.

I have traditionally published this post because this is a memorial that is almost not mentioned in our main media.

The space of Bosanska Posavina, as the name suggests, means the region along the Sava River. As the borders of the region are taken eight municipalities: Brčko, Derventa, Bosnian ship, Odžak, Orašje, Šamac, Gradačac and Modriča. It is a space of fertile land and a turbulent past because it was often a place of conflict as a boundary area. Bosnian Posavina was before the war, as most Bosnia, was a multiethnic space. According to the last pre-war census, about 135,000 Croats lived in the enumerated municipalities.

The Bosnian Posavina was a very important military goal for the Serbs, because by mastering the area with the Sava, the Direct Corridor would have connected Serbia with all occupied areas from Bosnia and Croatia. Therefore, aggression on Posavina has started since March 1992. The defense of Bosanska Posavina was organized by the HVO, in whose ranks Bosniaks fought. Organized attacks by Serbian units by surgery "Corridor" They started in June and were conquered by the cities and villages of Posavina. The fall of Bosanski Brod 6. October was completed.

During surgery, the corridor, the Greater Serbian forces killed 458 Croatian civilians, mostly the elderly. No one was answered by these crimes. Life also lost 2,020 veterans.

The goal of this post is to point out events that, in my opinion, is not sufficiently represented by media.
