Of course not , average earner is a nobody here with all these outrageous prices , its nothing , this country is competitive for slavery and underpayment , not for salary

  2. ObviouslyTriggered on

In other news life time of running for the average runner is not enough to qualify for the Olympics….

Also an extremely flawed “research”, it only considers earning rather than gain in asset value, believe it or not people still buy houses and have savings yes even median earners.

This article is the definition of a rage bait nothing burger.

  3. Should they expect it though? Assuming working people are the majority of the population and most of them stick at the lifetime of work, they can’t all expect to be in the top 10%. Oh wait, I kinda forgot that new generation behind them is working, someone at 55 is wealthier than a 21 year old in the early stages of a career.. But still it was historically normal for working people to die in relative poverty.

But…intergenerational wealth transfers through inheritance/passing down of assets is a thing. I know people in their 20s getting 6 figure sums. Obviously it’s not fair, and really why we should ‘tax wealth not income’, but it is what it is.

Also seen a few ‘waaah im so poor i’ve got to survive on my student job graduate trainee salary and working part time at starbucks around my studies’, not regarding they grew up in a big detached house, still have several wealthy grandparents still alive and are basically waiting for the clock to tick down for inheritance.
