      Mod pro IPTV is a app for watching tv – so is it that and a VPN that was the problem or the modpro iptv app which makes more sense as they usually used for streaming with out subscriptions?

      Never heard of this vpn. This is just fear mongering. They found one person who used a dodgy vpn and paid the price.

      Get a vpn. you’re gonna need it.

      Worrying that this is possible, it seems like quite a large floor in the android system to be able to use the Accessibility suite in that way so hopefully that gets patched up.

      Tbh it’s a vpn tacked on to iptv so it’s not surprising it’s dodgy. You have pretty much always needed a vpn for Internet telly, so this isn’t really a consequence of the Internet safety act (shite as it is)

      This ‘VPN’ (and probably several aliases of it) isn’t found through any official store – you have to be installing it through popups and dodgy pages.

      This basically has nothing to do with VPNs, it’s just viruses disguising themselves as the latest hot trend, because 90% of being a successful hacking group is social engineering and tricking you to click things you shouldn’t. Before this they were probably pretending to be free crypto apps.

      Use ProtonVPN, they have a good free version and are made by a great privacy respecting company.

      Don’t use a free VPN, nothing in this world is free, it’s likely legitimately spying on you per their T&C’s you didn’t read.

      I fully expected the government to have emptied the accounts to punish the VPN user, and I wasn’t even surprised. Afterwards, I realised how shocking it was that I assumed that.
