  1. Only 9 million, nine hundred and ninety nine thousand and nine hundred and eighty one to go, only to get back the same.

Just how does that help, starmer is a fucking moron

  2. We get 19 back from France in return.

It’s a swap deal and doesn’t reduce the numbers coming in.

Question is going to be what volumes they can reach by next June. The scheme is already operating far better than the Rwanda nonsense, but ultimately we need to be putting close to 600 a week back in France for it to achieve its goals.

Seems like the “dont pander to Farage” people are trying to celebrate this small effort that is “pandering to Farage”.

The headline net migration figure and the economy are the places where people who want a stable sensible governing party to win in 4 years time, will need ot be focusing.

I know 26 returned so far isn’t an absurd amount but pleasantly surprised given all the talk of legal challenges and such. Do I dare have optimism that it can be successfully ramped up

  6. Poor amount removed. A thousand just crossed the other day. The only actual thing that stops them is when the weather is bad. The scheme is no good. What people want is an actual decrease in numbers. Starmer and Labour are doing the absolute minium to deal with illegal migration because they don’t really want to stop it as it is cheap workers by the backdoor.

  7. This is a huge waste of time and money that is putting far too much focus on how it benefits immigrants who are trying to enter the UK, as opposed to how it benefits the UK.

All money invested in this useless scheme should be refocused on working with France to implement a solution on the French side that *prevents* boats from launching in the first place, with powers to allow security forces to disable boats on land as they are discovered, and disable/return boats in shallows near the French coast. Obviously, it’s impossible to stop this completely, but reducing this crazy 1000+ per day is critical.

The cost of some security presence on the French side is surely lower than the total lifetime costs associated with allowing an infinity amount of illegal mystery migrants to enter the country, who then “legally” import their entire bloodline after they’re established. This is not even considering social and cultural costs on the British population either….
