Why does the title say “religious leader”?
Don’t such articles normally use the actual title “Priest”, “Reverend”, “Rabbi” etc?
“Imam pleads guilty after teens married in mosque” is the official BBC title, not sure why it was changed
Two 16-year-olds. Would still be legal in scotland. Man needs to better study his geography. Northampton is not that far north.
The key take away from this should be that when an conservative imam tried to break the law he was arrested and charged. It’s worrying that the headline has been sanitised – that’s exactly the sort of thing that gives fuel to the far right.
