  1. Presumed* comet 3I/ATLAS, it’s too soon to make a conclusion (and it was way too soon when NASA did)

    And the article calls 1I/ʻOumuamua  a comet too when it certainly wasn’t 

    But it’s neat that it’s expelling so much hydroxyl

  2. Comet Hale-Bopp was spewing 400 TONS/second of water at the same distance from the sun. Comet 3I is only spewing 40 kg/second, or 1000x less.

    No it’s not. Read the actual study. They modeled a scenario in which it could be off gassing OH. Or maybe nickel or nothing cause their model was garbage. 

    They site a private communication in the study so you can’t replicate it. 

    Junk science. We should all be reading the studies and asking why they are making these claims. 

    And no it’s not a comet. It’s doesn’t display cometary activity. Don’t blindly believe everything.
