Hei!
I’m a student traveler from Texas USA.
Stayed in Oslo for seven days, and it was brilliant.

They were many astonishing architecture, historical and monumental places to enjoy.
The best part was that it wasn’t crowded at all. Unlike in TX, temperature was low so I could walk and ride a bike all day without getting exhausted.
Food was nice (especially burger), people were so kind to me.
Although Hotel price was kinda wicked😂 I will plan another trip again sooner or later.

And I would appreciate it if y‘all could tell me about other places near Oslo that I can go by public transportation.

If you think Oslo is this nice you will be hospitalized from amazement if you visit practically any other European capital.

If you’re willing to take the train for a couple of hours, there are a lot of nice places close to Oslo. Drøbak, Tønsberg, Stavern, Son, Moss, Hamar.

As a travel idea, take the overnight ferry to Copenhagen, it’s pretty nice. You can even do a day trip to Copenhagen as the ferry arrives there early and departs at the end of the day. Recommend 3/4 days in CPH tho

  4. Just visited a couple weeks ago. Oslo was so cool and the rain made it even better. Norway y’all got a fan after that trip

I’m glad you enjoyed it but Oslo is definitely one of the least pretty capital cities in Europe lol. And almost any other city in Norway (Bergen!) is prettier.

Yes, and every Friday and Saturday night Oslo is having a pride parade by people who don’t know how to drink and club/bar dense streets are rainbow colored from barfs. I do hope OP was lucky enough not to experience playing minesweeper at night and avoiding stepping in what someone drank and ate 1h before
