  1. If some rich non-eu person want to buy a house to use as a primary residence, there should be no issues with this. If the same person wants to buy a hotel and keep running it as a hotel, it should be ok too… assuming that the hotel run according to all relevant regulations. But, if the same person wants to buy apartment building or actually any real estate property which s/he is not going to use as a primary residence, this should be just banned outright. Ban not just converting properties into short term rentals. Ban any use other than primary residence. And than, once we deal with non-eu side of the problem, introduce laws making ‘’predatory rentals” unprofitable and illegal all around EU. Not al Airbnb “owners” are from outside of EU…

    They are not doing it through the kindness of their hearts they are scared of right leaning politicians making this an issue, that they will loose votes on.
