Fewer hunters, more bullets: Spain breaks its record for animals killed as the countryside empties

In 1985 there were 1.4 million hunting licenses. Today there are 610,000 left. It is the second lowest figure in history. But the number of animals killed has not stopped growing: five times more deaths than a quarter of a century ago, with half as many licenses.
