Search conducted at the homes of former Georgian Prime Minister, former Prosecutor General, and former Head of the State Security Service

Police searched the homes of former PM Irakli Garibashvili, former head of the State Security Service Grigol Liluashvili, former Prosecutor General Otar Partskhaladze, and 8 other people connected to them. A huge amount of cash was reportedly seized.

Who are they?

**Irakli Garibashvili** – One of Georgian Dream’s most loyal figures. He first became PM in 2013, then stepped down in 2015. Came back as Defence Minister (2019–2021) and became PM again from 2021 to early 2024. After that, he led the ruling party as chairman before announcing he was “leaving politics” in 2025. He’s widely considered one of Bidzina Ivanishvili’s closest allies and has stayed influential behind the scenes.

**Grigol Liluashvili** – Served as an MP before becoming head of the State Security Service in 2019, a position he held until April 2025. Known for being part of the inner circle and deeply involved in intelligence and domestic surveillance policy. After leaving the post, he’s remained close to ruling party figures and business networks tied to them.

**Otar Partskhaladze** – Briefly served as Prosecutor General in 2013 before resigning amid scandal. Since then, he’s been active in business and accused of using his political connections for influence. He gained Russian citizenship and was sanctioned by the U.S. and U.K. for allegedly cooperating with Russian intelligence to influence Georgian politics. Despite officially being out of government for years, he’s still considered one of the most powerful people in the background.
