Salut à tous! Saw a post about parquet flooring in Zurich the other day. Just curious how people living in Switzerland care for their parquet floor. Like the one on the picture. I think it is parquet, but I could be wrong. I suppose mopping it like a tiled floor is unhealthy or even damaging in the long run? Drop your tips here. Thanks

Probably depends on the parquet surface treatment you have. Ours is sealed and we mostly hoover only. Once a month mopping with a light damp cloth. The parquet in the picture seems to have has seen too much water.

well the one in the pic is quite damaged from humidity already. u have to wipe it with wet cloth + parkett soap when it gets a bit dirty and let it quickly dry with natural ventilation.

  3. Vacuum regularly, ideally with a parquet head (one with brushes and no wheels = no scratches). Don’t mop it wet, but use a damp cloth instead, so no droplets can seep into the structure.

My robot vacuums it and also sometimes it mops it.

But this one on the picture looks very damaged. It needs to be repaired. Until that I would just vacuum and mop it with damp cloth.

  5. Dreame L50 takes care for most of the dirt, and if that robot fails, I take the hot steamer. And if this is not enough to kill the dirt, there is a Kärcher Putzi 8 around (normally for the carpets). Anything else requires renovation.

  6. Do you rent or own? If owing you might want to consider oiling it. Super easy, inexpensive, provides good protection (including from humidity), easy maintenance, looks great
