Literally cancelling them for pointing out reform can’t manage a budget. Yes it was a fire to the stupidity of reform but the lady in charge knew her beans…it’s not possible to deliver what was promised, so it was about how you sell both council tax increases and worse services

  2. Reform councillors are finding out just how difficult local politics is. It turns out councils are not spending millions on diversity officers and that if is not something you can solve with maths done on a cigarette packet. Councils are spending a fortune on SEND children and social care and you cannot just cut that willy-nilly, so Reform councillors are now forced to confront the unfortunate reality of local government.

The absolute shambles that was that online meeting of the Kent County Council (KCC) ruling Reform U.K. administration shows how out of their depth and completely incompetent the party is with governing a County Council, let alone governing the nation. It is a perfect illustration of the ‘One Trick Pony’, single issue protest cult that is Reform U.K. led by Farage.
I’ll end by saying so much for that vapid PR exercise that was Reform U.K.’s DOGE. The DOGE initiative, which was sent first into Kent County Council (and to which the council leader refers to in that online meeting) was widely sold by Reform U.K. as being a vehicle which would unearth vast sums of ‘wasteful’ spending in local government that would prevent any Reform U.K. controlled council from cutting services or raising council tax. It’s found no such wasteful council spending at all – we’ve heard nothing since. It’s an initiative that was headline grabbing for the party, but was nothing more than a cynical empty PR recuse to garner votes at in the elections.

  4. Lol, these guys couldn’t run a race.

I bet the guy who brought a full flagpole to the meeting is fine though.

Honestly, how are they not embarrassed.

Such childish behaviour from the council leader lmao.
Literally acting out a power play on a glorified zoom call.

    “could you explain this decision?”

“no and if you ask again I’ll mute you!!!”

Huh turns out cash strapped councils weren’t, in spite of all their difficulties, spending millions and millions of pounds on woke roundabouts, gay traffic lights and trans statues.

Crazy. I wonder if there were any way that using basic critical thought you could have worked this out beforehand. Nah probably not.

  7. Personally I’m so glad we have them running kcc for us now, it’s exposed the disparity between their claims and what’s actually going on within our councils and has given us an insight to exactly how out of touch with reality they are, having witnessed one of their meetings I know for a fact that they’re nothing more than a second tory party with the same nimby attitudes desperate to line their pockets.

  8. Meanwhile I get a leaflet through my door telling me how Reform are showing ‘professionalism on a scale not seen before’ when it comes to local councilors.

Adult social care. The only meaningful way to make a dent in local authority spending would be to essentially force pensioners to sell their homes to pay for their care provision. Something reform voters will absolutely shriek about.

Sort of interesting watching them flounder, because their voters don’t realise that it is in fact *them* who are a burden, it’s not diversity and inclusivity training.

This is very shocking behaviour from an amateur party who make big claims and don’t then follow through

And yet if I point out that reform are a racist party, I will get downvoted heavily (based on previous experience)
