According to NTV’s news, it was determined that Emlik injured his boss, who fired him at the car wash where he worked in the Silivri district of Istanbul in 2013, with multiple stab wounds due to the issue of receivables, and was sentenced to 8 years and 9 months in prison.

It was revealed that the attacker entered Burhaniye T Type Prison in September 2019 and stayed for 5 years, 9 months and 18 days.

Having completed the time he had to spend in a closed prison, Emlik gained the right to move to an open prison. Emlik was released from Burhaniye T Type Prison on June 26, 2025.

Emlik, who was required by law to go to the open prison in Çanakkale within 48 hours, did not do so and disappeared. Burhaniye Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office issued a search warrant for Emlik, who became a fugitive, on June 29.

While escaping with the vehicle of the specialist sergeant he killed, he injured V.Ö, with whom he had an argument, in the throat, and R.K, whom he asked for an address, in the leg.
