Sometimes I really think this is a parody or something. I mean, if we were talking about FC Barcelona, Manchester United, or AC Milan, then maybe. But FC GD Zürich FGS?

I agree: **Keep Gozo clean, it’s an amazing place!**
But: Under the [Maltese Litter Act](https://legislation.mt/eli/cap/206/eng), these huge fines only apply to large-scale fly-tipping: “*dumps refuse, swill or litter of such size or in such quantity or accumulation as, taken by itself, is sufficient to lead to defacement of any place in the open air*”.
Regular littering fine in Malta costs as low as €23.29, with an even lower “fast payment discount” fine of €11.65, if the fine paid within 7 days.
License suspension (which is what the act prescribes, so not (directly) confiscation, as the sign erroneously claims) only applies to crimes committed where the vehicle was utilized in the commission of said crime (e.g. truck used to transport fly-tipped materials). Additionally, the vehicle used – if it doesn’t belong to an un-involved party (e.g. rental car company) – can also be sequestered (which AFAIK means impounded) for the same amount of time.
Order for cleanup is only applicable to “dumping” (not mere littering) and not an enforceable must-do-it-yourself against the offender. If ordered to cleanup and he doesn’t do it, the police will do it and the offender (only) has to pay the government for the cleanup cost.
Finally, the whole act does NOT apply to (affixed) stickers.
