Line thickness & shade map Strahler stream order, which is a measure of how many streams merge into a given channel. Highest order are small headwater creeks, while largest are the great rivers of the world (i.e., Amazon, Congo, Nile). Lakes are a consistent light blue.

    Tools: QGIS and R
    Sources: HydroRIVERS/HydroLAKES (HydroSHEDS).

  2. Looks cool. No clue what the Strahler Stream Order is but I assume that it’s based on water flow?

  3. Looks good, but as an Australian, many of those ‘rivers’ do not flow generally. They are channels that carry water once or twice a decade.
