Reading it and knowing what it’s like in small town and cities of England, it truly is like an episode of *Little Britain*.
The NIMBYs and the old / retired more so than the vocal racist.
I’m glad the article also talks about those who give opportunities and voices to the vulnerable. There are plenty of good eggs still, we just need to be more vocal about it – go against the mainstream media trying to drive that divide, fueled by the old and ~~ignorant~~ stubborn loud mouths.
Jesus Christ, the state of that numpty who’s turned his bucket hat into a pith helmet! Stupid hat? Check. Empire moustache? Check! Football shirt and braces? Oh yes…
Proud and happy to see this progress. Places like Barrow and Dalton were absurdly white anyway.
Grumpy old man moves away, young and diverse family move in, bringing real life to the area rather than just more NIMBYism.
As someone who lived round the corner from the Baitul Futuh Mosque in Morden (one of the largest in Europe), I just want to tell these people to get over themselves.
So on one side of the article there are the people who know the local Muslims, work with them or employ them saying it’s absolutely fine and on the other side insane racists.
