“A 35-year-old man from London who was also arrested at the scene has been released with no further action,” the update reads.

“It was reported in good faith to officers responding to the incident that he was involved in the attack, and following enquiries we can confirm that he was not involved.”

So it seems like this was a lone nutter

Hang on, press conference at 10am they said two suspects, this was 12 hours after the event. It’s taken this long to realise one guy wasn’t involved.

Rather casts doubts on them being sure it’s not a terrorist incident.

So, the LNER staff member remains in a serious condition after intervening to save lives. Hopefully, he makes it.

The primary suspect lived in Peterborough but it’s still not clear what motivated him to go on a stabbing spree.

  4. There was a incident I remember in China I think where a man got a bad divorce verdict and decided to murder loads of people with his car. Sometimes it’s not terrorism but someone who decided society has wronged them and does something evil.

Further reminder that baseless speculation on social media and from activist media organisations in the hours after the event do not serve the public interest

  6. Deputy Chief Constable Stuart Cundy:

“Having viewed the CCTV from the train, the actions of the member of rail staff were nothing short of heroic and undoubtedly saved people’s lives.”

Hero. Hoping for a speedy and full recovery – they’re currently the last victim still in life threatening condition.

  7. I think this increases the probability of it being a mentally disturbed person instead of a terrorist if it was only one.

  8. I get that it’s a part of police work but imagine being involved in a traumatic mass stabbing, potentially either trying to help people or confront the attacker and then you’re handcuffed and locked in a cell because someone mistakenly though you were also an attacker.

  9. So as soon as the stabbing on the train was on the news, certain people were “Deport all immigrants, because this must be a Muslim plot because… ‘terrorism’. Then it was confirmed it was not terrorism and two persons of Caribbean background had been arrested, so now it must definitely be preplanned, so it must be drugs and gangs. Now one of the suspects has been released and its one one person who was involved only. If your thoughts when you hear about something like this are 1. must be immigrants and then 2. must be gangs when you have no other information then you have made an assumption based on nothing other than your expectations. If this turns out to be wrong you have to at least consider the possibility that your assumptions were flawed and might be based on nothing other than what you expected based on race. I’d encourage everyone to work through their thought processes and see where their errors were made and if you should maybe hold back rather than jump to the same conclusion on another occasion.

This is only personal experience, but I’ve definitely noticed more aggressive mentally unstable people around the streets as the years have gone on.

what a state of a country, i notice online that there was a lot of buzzing from the online hoard, but not about the victims, but about the race/nationality of the attacker(s). (there here!)

    were turning into the US

So, how are the racists going to continue framing this as terrorism now?

The only thin thread they were hanging on to was that, “two attackers couldn’t possibly be a coincidence!”

EDIT: Go on then. Show me where I’m wrong.
