Cool talk, I was in middle school when it happened but remember the giant plume images from Hubble and thinking that it was an earth size mushroom cloud is astounding. Wild to think that it impacts a planet too when Jupiter being all gas makes you realize the density levels we are observing.
I was 11 when this happened and I vaguely remember people worrying about this thing. It is before they let all the lunatics on the internet so it is impossible to find anything about it, but if anybody remembers anything it would be very much appreciated!
