Nogato is a band from Madrid with Galician and Andalusian roots that moves between punk, emo and alternative pop rock with Asian and North American influences. In 2019 they published their first self-titled albumbetting on direct songs, with energetic guitars, changing rhythms and lyrics that address personal topics such as making mistakes, forgetting the past, nostalgia, fear, insecurities and loss. Their proposal has been described as an update of classic emo and pop-punk. As they say on their bandcamp: "Nogato are like a Tony Hawk anime intro and sing about what worries them and makes them happy. They like cats, Asian movies and eating pumpkin croquettes in the park."

After a line-up change and several singles in between, they have returned in 2025 after 6 long years without releasing anything new. This year they presented their new album "What I’ve gained, what I’ve lost"a work that consolidates his evolution and where the influences of Japanese and Korean rock shine with all their strength. Composed of ten songs, the album has a more careful production approach, and talks about overcoming losses, defeats, victories, and nostalgia for the past, with references to animes and video games. And the album, for me, is one of the best that has come out in Spain in 2025.

For me Nogato is a must which you have to know if you like emo, post-hardcore and punk, and I think it is one of the few bands that has a very characteristic style and very few groups do what they do. Furthermore, his lyrics have been super important for me and for many people. I hope you like them and that you discover new things.
