I don’t why in the living hell in their little little meat brains decided to think that yellow lines and yellow parking boxes are normal parking. No matter how many times I reported this zobb tal rental cars to the marsaskala police station of irregular parking in a dead end street.
The response I get is “oh sorry its a touristic area cause there is 2 Airbnb apartments we can’t do nothing as we gotten bribe by the airbnb owner to keep the tourists happy” that take away all the parking where I live not fair uhx. I was about to egg the shit of this rental cars or at least sticky note the fuck out of it

What are you waiting for? Why have you not egged the cars yet? Egg prices too expensive??
When in Rome…
Why? Because the public transport and law enforcement sucks
Buy stickers that leave residue behind, on the sticker you can become a bit creative, here are some suggestions.
– Your dick is small and so is your parking skills
– Buying shit cars
– This guy parked illegally
Bonus points if you put multiple on his windshield.
These zobb airbnb ownerd have entire blocks of apartments rented out to tourists, they are obliged to build with garages because of parking problems but garages are not open to guests. I can’t even park in my garage because everybody, mostly Maltese park in front.
I genuinely hope you called LESA, runting here to vent is OK, but if they get a ticket they might stop from doing it in the next days or in their next visit
Yeah, like the locals know how to park (or even drive).
Sorry you complain about the parking of rental cars, and you want to do an illegal revenge act on them, when the police blatantly told you they are corrupted? Are you for real? Leave the cars alone, and escalate the corruption issue!
First of all locals do the same. Secondly a flat tire couple times can sort the issue
The tourists ive seen here were usually the ones sticking to traffic and parking rules.
99% of the time it was a maltese parking in roundabouts, speeding, honking all day, not stoping at zebra crossings/traffic lights/signs etc.
Wasnt there even article on times of Malta some time ago that the owner (a maltese) of rental cars keeps parking his cars illegally because its the cheapest option for him and nothing is done about it?
Im not saying there are no tourist/foreigners who doesn’t know how to drive/park – there are plenty – but here in Malta its usually the locals who doesn’t care for any rules/laws
The only way people are gonna care is if these cars started seeing dents
I’m the kind of person who once came to Malta as a tourist and rented a car, and believe me, tourists who rent cars in Malta take care of them as if they were their most precious possessions. They follow every single rule and always park only where it’s allowed. The reason is simple: they pay a incredible huge deposit just to be able to rent the car, so they don’t take any risks. Besides, this is the very first thing the rental companies tell you.(the yellow lines)
Now I live here, and I still follow all the rules, including parking regulations. We have never broken any rule and never will, because that’s just the kind of people we are. But I’ve seen locals here parking on top of each other, shouting at each other (sometimes I feel like I only need popcorn while watching what happens in the streets). It’s not a criticism – I just smile to myself and move on.
Parking is a tricky issue here in Malta, sometimes we have to park two or three streets away because other people park in front of our house (even in spots that are supposedly reserved for residents). Does it feel good? No, but I’ve completely stopped getting upset about it.
I totally understand you – it must be really frustrating. In Marsascala, it’s honestly a nightmare to find a parking spot anyway. There were times when we went to visit friends, and we had to park about a 10-minute walk away from their house.
Reach out to some journalists about the parking and the police response. Maybe get some evidence to back up your claims in case someone threatens a libel suit etc.
I would call that more ‘local’ logic.
But you’ll learn to ignore it. Marsaskala you said right? Go around every block after 9pm and good luck finding a parking spot. You’ll see cars (locals) jn every corner on double yellows most of the time.
When people say there’s too many cars, they’re not lying you know.
As tourism continues to increase and with it the number of rental cars, with unrestricted access to free on street parking, pressure for on street parking will increase to levels such that you will see even more ridiculous and illegal parking everywhere you look. Finding a space will become that much harder.
Maybe it’s time we reconsider our system of free parking everywhere for everyone (including tourist rental cars!) for unlimited periods of time?
Most towns in Sicily and around Europe have systems which discourage cars from urban Centres and charge exponentially more for parking closer to the Centre. A lot of these places often also have residential parking schemes.
Additionally we need:
– revision of the planning authority policy which allows developers to pay a small sum for every required parking space / garage they do not build when developing higher density apartment blocks
– there needs to be a dual effort at reducing the number of cars in Malta and pushing as many cars as possible off street and into garages
– a 100 more suggestions for how to reduce car dependency and encourage better public transport
Besides Malta’s homegrown car dependency problem, as tourism booms and confidence in public transport diminishes, can we afford thousands more rental cars on our streets?
I am finding it hard to believe that the police said that, but if they did, you obviously should report them to the HQ
