Regional hard candys from Silesia. rhubarb (rabarbar) flavour are the best. The Black ones are anise with herbs flavour.
I guess. There is a lot of sentiment towards these (cans that long ago were used as packages are practically antiques nowadays). The taste is, well, let’s just say of an acquired type.
They come from Upper Silesia, they are manufactured at least since 19th century. According to historians, originally they were given to coal miners to treat their throats after inhaling unhealthy amounts of dust while underground.
In modern days they are nothing but a treat, coming in quite unique flavours you won’t find in other hardcandies.
The black one is evil though
