“Well, one of the things they’re going to be talking about pretty soon are the tremendous drop in drug prices. You know, we’ve cut drug prices by 1,200, 1,300, 1,400, 1,500 percent. I don’t mean 50 percent. I mean 14-, 1,500 percent,” the president said.

All the beeb had to do was broadcast him as is, no editing necessary. Instead they gave him, and everyone against the BBC, ammunition.

They had one job… And they fucked it.
Got no time for the daft cunt but for fucks sake.
If you think about it, the previously thought of ‘bastion of truth’ has been exposed to be just as manipulative as all the other media outlets. This is bigger than we realise at the moment. Gonna be a lot of fallout over the next few weeks.
GB news have been gifted a free kick in the balls. They’ll dine out on this for weeks, probably pay for the Christmas party.
On a positive note, it’s reconfirmed my decision to stop watching TV 15 years ago and not paying the licence fee.

I was only thinking this morning that we hadn’t heard from this twat for a while and how lovely that was.

Yes I pay for tv license, we get the bbc who are impartial so the tv license is justified.

The people who have been banging on that the bbc has a strong left wing bias were vindicated hard. Now evaluate the people that were hired and promoted by them, the rot doesn’t stop with these two

Good riddance you Tory hack. This is a dream come true for Starmer, watch him fumble it.

Surely the BBC director general resigning indicates that they are following a rigid set of guidelines and disciplines which shows that they’re being held to a higher standard than other news producers
I almost like knowing that there will be consequences for doctoring footage to create a narrative

So this is about a documentary they aired before the last US election, and we’re coming up to the mid terms?
I’ll be watching the news in the coming weeks, because this seems pretty random for the DG and head of BBC news to resign immediately.

The editing may have been clumsily done, which should’ve been picked up along a chain of people saying “oh yeah, maybe we should put a transition in there”
But I’m also just as alarmed that we’re also allowing our national broadcaster to cowtow to US pressure. I get Starmer’s strategy is to keep Trump buttered up for diplomacy reasons, but it should be dealt as an internal UK matter for editorial or journalistic integrity.
Imagine how infringing on our freedom of speech and freedom of the press if we allow heads of states and governments to dictate what we can print or publish.

Mixed emotions on this one. On one hand, Tim Davie has been awful for the BBC and killed some fantastic shows because they were apparently too left wing for his liking, but on the other, I really don’t think it’s good that the leader of a foreign country can have that much influence over our public broadcaster.
