I see that DR is broadcasting a short film series based on Aarhus University Press’s book series, a series where each book is made by a professional, an expert, who lets others get an insight into their work. The work of this highly competent professional has then been fed into an AI video tool by a number of people as part of a project linked to the company Seabird Productions, which is supported by, among others, the Carlsberg Foundation.
The unimaginably bad taste in my mouth personally – that this product has even been allowed to exist to begin with, and that it is also broadcast on flow TV as a form of public service – is one thing.
That you then choose not to paste the warning "Ai-generated content" on every second of this short film, neither at the company Seabird Productions nor in post-production at DR, is, in my eyes, directly reprehensible. They do it on their – somewhat redundant – celebrity background investigation program, so why not here?
It only stands towards the end, tucked away at the start of the scrolling credits, which as always quickly give way to the next moving image, is in my eyes reprehensible.
I personally think it’s embarrassing. I just saw the clips based on the book Gravity and it didn’t even look good. It was sloppy for even AI slop to be. Mind-boggling, downright.
But what do you think, dear fellow redditor? Am I just a grumpy fart who just needs to stop belching, or do you agree with (some of) my views?
