The neurobiological mechanism of reward was found to be fundamental for the development of the human species, favoring the search for food or a partner, the creation of communities by which to be appreciated. This same mechanism is also activated in a dysfunctional way in various forms of pathological addiction such as drug addiction, gambling, abuse of social networks, etc… Therefore, the study I shared reminds us how dangerous it can become to exaggerate in cheering for your own football team!
