To sanction the leap in scale of the crisis, a press note from Assorimap, the National Association of plastics recyclers and regenerators which represents 90% of the supply chain with an installed recycling capacity of 1.8 million tonnes per year. “Given the lack of urgent measures to save the sector, the private recycling industry, after years of survival, gives up: from today we are stopping the plants” states the president of the association, Walter Regis: “We do it with a sense of responsibility, aware of the repercussions on the entire country, but continuing to produce with unsustainable losses is now impossible”.
But when one link in the supply chain stops, it paralyzes everything else too. “The blockade of private recycling plants – explains the Assorimap note – will lead to an immediate domino effect, paralyzing the national waste system”. Regis further clarifies: “The yards of the storage and selection centers are already overloaded and at the authorized limits set. If we recyclers stop processing batches altogether, the sorting system will crash within a few weeks. At that point, there will no longer be space to dispose of the plastic collected separately by citizens.”
Faced with the stoppage of the plants, a few hours after Assorimap’s announcement, the Ministry of the Environment reconvenes the emergency table for the afternoon of November 25th.
Faced with the appeals of the companies, the executive took action, with two meetings: one at the Ministry of the Environment (MASE), on 8 October (in parallel, again at the MASE, a table was also convened for the textile waste collection crisis, for which we can hope for a different solution); the other to the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy (MIMIT). But according to Assorimap these emergency tables did not serve to activate the necessary interventions to save the sector.
“Almost two months have passed since the last appeal to Minister Pichetto Fratin and more than a month since the table convened by the Ministry of the Environment with the promise of a new operational convocation by early November, which to date has not happened – Regis recalls -. What we denounced in October was not an idle warning, nor is this announcement to stop the plants. We are facing a national emergency that we cannot face alone.”

TL:DR i costi energetici fuori controllo rendono antieconomico il riciclo.
Ormai come al solito i problemi per qualunque impresa in Italia ma in generale in tutta Europa sono i costi energetici e la concorrenza che viene dai soliti paesi in cui non si fanno tanti scrupoli sui metodi di produzione.
Non c’è problema, “miracolosamente” qualche grande centro di stoccaggio prenderà fuoco prossimamente, e si risolverà ogni impaccio.
Soluzione: bisogna diminuire drasticamente il numero di abitanti di questa Terra.

Quindi possiamo aspettarci un aumento del 20% di tutti i prodotti contenenti plastica? Quindi anche acqua e alimentari?
Il riciclo della plastica è sempre stata una mezza idiozia, gran parte dei rifiuti di plastica prodotta potrebbe benissimo essere Vuoto a Rendere, come in Germania.
Vabbè ma tanto non succede niente se questo fosse usato come scusa per non riciclare più

Lavorando nel settore non siamo messi bene, anzi. Bisogna dire che non tutte le plastiche sono uguali e non tutte sono riciclabili come in tanti pensano e se lo sono non si possono riutilizzare all’infinito. Il problema sta anche alla base infatti ognuno noi consuma e produce troppo. Giustamente nei commenti si dice di usare altri materiali solo che bisogna essere consapevoli che i prezzi dei prodotti aumenteranno anche perchè le varie plastiche sono estremamente versatili e difficili da sostituire in molti oggetti di cui si fa quotidianamente uso.
Ultima cosa: il fatto che non si può riciclare un imballaggio in plastica x non autorizza l’italiano medio a sbarazzarsene buttando il rifiuto per strada o in altri contenitori di rifiuti perchè sarà sempre meglio gestirlo ed eliminarlo in impianti predisposti rispetto al fai da te dannoso per l’ambiente o che va a ostacolare altre filiere con problemi meno gravosi.
Finché uno prende una bistecca e si trova dei blister che sono 4 volte quello che c’è dentro, sarà difficile la situazione migliori… Dico bistecca, ma la situazione in molti altri prodotti alimentari é la medesima.
Del resto, il riciclo é stato anche un modo per colpevolizzare il consumatore
