A few days ago I watched "Blue Mountains or an Incredible Story (1983)," a Georgian film that I really enjoyed. It blends the Kafkaesque nature of bureaucracy with a gentle and comic tone, yet remains no less terrifying. It tells the story of Rezo, a writer who tries to get his book read in order to obtain approval from the Soviet entity in charge of authorizing publications. But countless things prevent him from doing so. There’s a genuine aura of kindness, a willingness to read, but ultimately no one reads the book. No one.

Loved the movie! If you could recommend me another one, it’d be great.

  1. Great movie, my fav one too. So happy to hear people from other countries watching it too. U may also enjoy: “The Eccentrics”, “Extraordinary Exhibition”, “Repentance” (1987 film)

  2. Whenever I feel masochistic, I rewatch Roots.
I love the soundtrack and there is some great acting in it.

I also love Mimino for all the jokes.
