Essential workers aside, whenever i’m in a restaurant/bar or McDonalds even in london i’m thinking “how do any of the staff here exist?” like, really, how, how do you live in the south of England, much less London, on minimum wage? I just can’t compute it.

Rent in London is now so unaffordable that a single full-time salary isn’t enough most places require two full time workers to even qualify. How is this considered normal?

And yet London is building less houses today than it did in the 1930s. Completely and utterly unacceptable how broken this system is.

I like how jobs such as nursery assistants and healthcare workers are called “essential work” in these headlines, but when migrants work in those jobs they’re demonised for being a “net drain”.
Which is it?

Interesting. You live in a democracy and yet you continue vote for parties who not only allow this to happen but make it worse. I’m starting to think that democracy doesn’t work.
