WeRide’s Robotaxi Receives Driverless Permit in Switzerland; Autonomous Vehicles Now Licensed in 8 Countries

WeRide has received Switzerland fully driverless permit for their Robotaxi, granted by the Federal Roads Office. With this acceptance, they become the only AV company that licensed to operate in 8 countries. In this permit, WeRide Robotaxi can operate their vehicles under the "come on"directed by the Swiss Transit Lab, supported by Zurich and AArgau and Swiss Federal Railways. This program will deploy Robotaxis across 110km services area with 460 stops. When the testing is completed, WeRide will move to fully driverless in 2026. They will also expand their Robobuses, forming the first Robobuses in Switzerland.
