    Paying peanuts to get cheaper nuclear energy doesn’t seem like a winning recipe to me.

  3. Hopefully this will change now. The process seems to be speeding up. Sizewell C will be based on Hinkley Point C. SMRs can (potentially) make production much cheaper too

  4. The UK has amongst the most expensive power – of all types – globally. This means industry is globally uncompetitive. Households pay too much for heat and light. Also, AI won’t happen here.

    That is historically a failure of the last Tory administration.

    Labour has announced small, modular reactors made by Rolls Royce that will cost a fraction of the current large reactors.

    Good job we’re the fifth richest country with opportunity to invest in infrastructure for the future in a rapidly changing world.
