I’m running into a confusing situation with Swisscom and I’m wondering if anyone has had similar experiences.
I want to sign up for blue Mobile M – SIM-only, no device, no discount.
On the official Swisscom FAQ, it explicitly says:
“The minimum contract duration at Swisscom is generally 12 months. For subscriptions with discounted devices, the duration may be 24 months.”
This sounds pretty clear to me:
SIM-only → usually 12 months
With discounted phone → 24 months
However, Swisscom support told me that it is “always 24 months minimum duration with us,” regardless of whether you take a device or not.
I then checked the official contract documents (“Special Conditions Mobile Communications” + Swisscom GTCs).
Those documents do not state a fixed 24-month rule – they only say the minimum contract duration is defined in the specific offer.
So theoretically, 12 months should still be possible if no device is involved.
Has anyone recently (2024/2025) managed to get blue Mobile M – or any other Blue Mobile plan – with a 12-month minimum duration?
Or did Swisscom silently switch all plans to 24 months even for SIM-only?
Is there anywhere I can see the exact contract duration before purchasing, without the Black Friday promotional bundles messing up the options?
Would appreciate any insights or recent experiences – Swisscom seems to be giving contradictory information.

On their blue m page it seems pretty clear the minimum length is 24 months. Disgusting and I wouldn’t touch swisscom with a stick honestly.
1. that is a terrible deal.
2. this is what it says: ”
* From 17 November to 1 December 2025, when you take out a new blue Mobile subscription, you will pay 39.90 per month for the first 12 months. In this case, the discount is 42% for blue Mobile S (standard price 69.90/month), 50% for blue Mobile M (standard price 79.90/month) and 60% for blue Mobile L (standard price 99.90/month). After 12 months, the standard price of the chosen subscription applies. The offer does not apply to a simple plan change. Minimum contract term: 24 months. Activation fee 59.90 (waived for online sign-up).”
You could try to call them I guess but if you don’t explicitly need a Swisscom subscription you should take a look at wingo’s offer. They use Swisscom’s network and their mobile subscription doesn’t have a minimum duration (at least when I subscribed)
I switched to them in 2022 and they were quite accommodating by activating their black Friday offer once my precious contact expired. The only negative change that happened since then was the price going up by 1CHF/month
