The perpetrators failed to come forward during the early post-Apartheid period when the Truth and Reconciliation Commission was active. They might have been treated more leniently; they arrogantly thought they didn’t do anything wrong. This was a particularly brutal political murder and the upcoming sentence should reflect that..
