Let’s hope we won’t have to wait 30 years for the criminals in that other apartheid state to get convicted.
What always shocks me is how many perpetrators thought time itself would protect them. History doesn’t forget as easily as they hoped.
The perpetrators failed to come forward during the early post-Apartheid period when the Truth and Reconciliation Commission was active. They might have been treated more leniently; they arrogantly thought they didn’t do anything wrong. This was a particularly brutal political murder and the upcoming sentence should reflect that..
Tune in tomorrow when Trump “pardons” them.
