“Armed police have been deployed to London Heathrow, with the airport confirming an incident they were responding to an incident at the busy travel hub.

Drivers and bus passengers trapped in the airport’s Terminal 3 multi-storey car park have been told to remain in their vehicles.

The Metropolitan Police said that it is an isolated incident and is not being treated as terrorism or protest-related.”

    Edit:

“One man has been arrested on suspicion of assault. A number of people were sprayed with what is believed to be a form of pepper spray by a group of men who then left the scene.”

You have to be a special kind of stupid to try pepper spraying people at an international airport of all places.

  4. From their perspective, it is a busy building with a lot of targets, while being a high profile building means a lot of media attention. However, this also means no chance of getting away with anything and a guaranteed arrest. It makes you wonder what their plan was, because it seems to me like they were expecting to be caught by security and the police.

  5. That was rough. We left home at 8am so 15 mins before it happened. 1h30 min trip. Saw it said there was an accident and Waze brought us off at Uxbridge for a short cut. It did cut off some traffic but then we were at standstill for T2. People were trying to walk through the tunnel.

The loop for T2 wasn’t moving so I did a quick route check for T5 and says it was fine and the trains were running between terminals. Went to T5, trains are backed up but got on. Getting off once at T2 was fun. Lifts all backed up and queues galore. The terminal was surprisingly quiet considering.

Just got here and at the gate, absolute chaos though. Pilots, crew and catering running late. Incredible what an isolated incident can do.
