Students organized a protest action in front of the European Commission building in Sofia under the title “NO to funding the genocide in Gaza!”

The initiative is of young people from different universities and is connected to an international campaign against Israel’s participation in European science programs.

Here is what participants in the action told the BNR:
"Israel is currently expected to receive €95 million under the European Union’s Horizon programme. This money goes into developing projects and science to help further the repression of the Palestinians. Under the same program, Russia was excluded from the possibility of funding, so we think this is a double standard".

"We are here to express solidarity with the Palestinian people".
