How the ever living fuck is that 5 years? Even if he only did 5 years inside he should be on licence for life.
Not only has his family lost him they have to live with the knowledge that this cunt will only spend about 3 years in jail for it.

for those wondering why the sentence seems light it’s because A) it was manslaughter not murder B) the “beating” was actually a slap and C) he plead guilty which attracts a deduction of 1/3 off the expected sentence
What do you even do anymore. You call out poor behaviour, you get assaulted, you die, your children’s lives are altered irreversibly.
The guy who ended your life over nothing and stole you from your kids lives, gets a paltry sentence and is back on the streets in a couple years.
This isn’t justice, this is a father getting murdered over an attempt to do the right thing.

can’t reaqd the article behind the paywall but from the start, the breakdown of decent society because people can’t respect an orderly queue and won’t respect being told either. what kind of mental state must someone be in to choose the next course of action?

Absolute scum. Should be locked up for life. Intent proven with CCTV to back it up, and pulling on a balaclava and waiting for him? Should’ve been murder. CPS accepting the manslaughter plea instead of prosecuting for murder (because they really don’t like going to trial anymore for cases unless it’s a slam dunk) is a joke as well. Also the “experienced CCTV officer” calling it an open-hand slap doesn’t add up nor does it change the outcome. He waited to attack the guy (who did nothing wrong), all because he was reprimanded for queue-jumping. Just vile.

This is why people are shit scared to call out bad behaviour in everyday life these days, you can literally be beaten to death in a supermarket and some soft touch judge will give them 5 years and they’ll be out in 2.5
This is an injustice. I just read he left the scene and returned back to him with a mask. This is second degree murder not manslaughter. The fact that he returned with intent and to conceal identity. In addition to that he left a child in the car in order to pursue his revenge. Im also sorry to say when I read this telegraph article I felt I didn’t want to make a judgment and be racist I googled the name and it’s exactly the situation I thought it was.
We need to grow a pair and not be afraid to lock these guys up and throw away to key. I mean FOR FUCKS SAKES HE GOT 5 YEARS FOR MURDER. GO TO THE US ITS FUCKING 5x THAT OR MORE. They make regular civilians lives a living hell and these deranged freaks get away Scott free.
If I was in charge of the justice system, and someone was found guilty of murder or worse, they’d get what they fucking deserve i.e torture. Not free meals, a bed to sleep in and opportunities to get their life back on track.
A premeditated attack resulting in murder and only 5 years? Not to mention all the other times he probably attacked innocents. This man should be getting life.
Somehow, the justice system keeps forgetting to add a fucking 0 to the sentence. He should have 5 years just for the intimidation and balaclava. 10 years for the violent act. 30 years for it leading to a death. Wtf. 5? Notice how the victim is just a middle class white man too. Our society thinks we’re fucking disposable. We don’t matter.
