  1. What’s going on here? Apart from being fairly dislikable and super seedy, what’s he actually done?

You can’t abuse your client power to perv over junior people who have to meet you to do their jobs. That would be enough. I haven’t heard anything yet that means the guy has to be totally cancelled. But I’ve heard enough to justify why no organisation wants to work with him. They have to protect their employees from harassment.

So telegraph will investigate David Walliams but ignore allegations of Boris Johnson or Nigel Farage?? How impartial(!)

  4. Will be interesting to see what comes out. Was a Reddit thread last week about celebs that give off villain vibes and his name came up a lot. Some of the comments gave very strong Jimmy Saville vibes.

Another celeb being wrongly accused or a genuine wrong’un?

  5. Funny how when one institution finally makes a decision on something like this, the rest suddenly discover their courage and fall into line.

  6. As a guy that grew up reading Roald Dahl and now a parent, I never understood the appeal of Williams’books. Seemed to try to have the Dahl craziness but never the quality stories.

I have a couple of friends who work at HarperCollins. These accusations have been around for years, with senior members of staff trying to silence victims because he’s a prolific writer and makes them a lot of money. His behaviour has never improved, but I also don’t know if his claim that he was never informed of the allegations against him is true.

What is important is that the victims have quite literally put their careers on the line to make sure this behaviour is called out and doesn’t happen to others, so I’d expect other organisations to take note, even if no criminal charges are brought.

I think we are only just scratching the surface on this one.. surely a legal investigation will start

  9. David Walliams, if you are reading this….remember what a brat you were in the reception of the K Spa in London a few years back? And the smug grin you gave me and my friend?

If you enjoy being such a nasty man and getting a kick out of it, then I hope you enjoy being renowned for it. This is all very satisfying for me to see.

My mate who works at a publishers the other day told me that when he was originally writing his memoir, he put in the fact he lost his virginity to his own sister.

They made him take it out, but apparently he seemed adamant to keep it in at first.

I might be stupid but I can’t find the investigation writeup, only allusions to it…on the Telegraph website

    Any linkers?

edit: I don’t think it’s a full article yet, but some paras here

    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/12/19/david-walliams-harper-collins/

    >It is understood that staff were interviewed as part of the inquiry by the publisher, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation.

    >Well-placed sources told The Telegraph that following the investigation, some junior staff were kept away from the author and one employee agreed a settlement and received a payoff.

    >Former staff also told this publication that they were told to work in “pairs” when meeting Walliams and were advised not to visit his home.

    >In 2023, a junior employee raised concerns and an investigation by the publisher followed.

    >Employees who had worked with Walliams were interviewed as part of the inquiry, which also involved at least one in-house lawyer.

    >The investigation concluded in 2024. The Telegraph understands the company took steps to ensure that Walliams and some members of staff would be kept apart.

    >A junior woman who had raised concerns about the author’s behaviour left the organisation after concluding a settlement with Harper Collins that included a five-figure payout.

  13. HarperCollins will be fine they’ll just get another C-list celebrity to put their names on those books. It’s well known they were all ghost-writtten.

Also, Williams had a sexual relationship with his sister for many years.

  14. Still waiting for the Torygraph, Daily Fail, GBcrp to cut ties with any right winger accused or convicted of sexual assault, taking money from foreign agents, racism. But then right wingers and cons wouldn’t have any standards if it wasn’t for double standards. Btw f Walliams as well

While I’m sure this is all sound I did chuckle at the *Telegraph* of all publications bemoaning that

    > However, a BBC spokesman said it would not be changing its festive schedule, which features two TV adaptations from Walliams’s books and a Boxing Day panel show appearance.

    > It is also understood that adaptations of Walliams’s books and other content related to him will not be removed from BBC iPlayer.

This is the same telegraph that would screech “cancel culture” every time anything is removed for any reason
