      NYSOFA is expanding a program that gives robot animals to older New Yorkers who feel isolated and lonely. The machines move and make sounds realistically, reducing loneliness by as much as 75%. New York Gov. Kathy Hochul also appointed Dr. Ruth Westheimer as the state’s Honorary Ambassador to Loneliness in November 2023.

      This would make sense in a rural area with no one around. But in NYC? 

      The service should be social events for them to hang out with each other
