This makes sense since Purple is the heaviest color

They predate M&Ms by some 60 years. Growing up in Australia I didn’t see M&Ms until I was a teenager and now they outsell Smarties by a large margin. I suspect they have changed the recipe to suit the Australian palate though. Not vomit flavoured at all like most mass produced American chocolate.

Now I wanna get a sample set of 400 and see what the bell curve for each color is
There’s probably a question on the RAADS about this, o can feel it

Give me a p value or your statistics are meaningless!

As a Canadian I don’t need Smarties explained to me, lol

Is it?
Doesn’t look that way offhand – did you actually run statstics?

Technically your averages should really only be to one decimal place because that’s the degree of accuracy/precision of the initial measurement, but thankfully it doesn’t change much and purple’s still obviously the heaviest!

Mymy, what small scales you have….

In the U.S., smarties are these little sugar circles stacked up in a line.

Smarties > M&Ms

In my experiment to replicate this, every tenth piece or so somehow disappeared.

How come you’ve averaged across the averages from the 2 packs instead of just across all the Smarties?

These are smarties in Canada too- and they are totally better than M&Ms and I will die on that hill

TIL: Smarties in the UK are VERY different than Smarties in the US.

Imma need to see a couple of confidence intervals

Dear reddit: does the US have an equivalent of these Smarties?

Are Smarties really from the UK? I always assumed they were a Canadian made brand because my grandma would always bring us some when she visited us as kids. (Canadian family living in the US at the time)

Data is interesting, but far from beautiful.

Top tier content. I would say that we should expand this to other countries and brands. Let’s see if purple is indeed the heaviest of them all
