> The poll, conducted by researchers More In Common, asked more than 1,000 viewers who won the debate with 25% of those surveyed opting for Mr Farage. Among those who voted Conservative in 2019, 47% placed the Reform leader at the top of the pile
Aren’t Reform & Conservatives the same party? lol I have my popcorn ready to watch the destruction of the Tories.

I mean he got a plurality, which isn’t really surprising when he’s the only one standing on an explicitly hard-right platform. If you’re liberal or left-wing then you have Labour, Lib Dems, Greens, Plaid and SNP to choose from. If you’re hard-right you’ll vote for Farage and that’s it.
In fact seeing that he’s the candidate with the biggest name recognition of the lot, and seeing that the right-wing media have been talking him up ever since he announced his candidacy, 25% is kinda mid.

The greatest Prime Minister we’ve never had. Putting such a low calibre group of opponents against him, it was inevitably only going to end one way. They never stood a chance. 1-0 Big Nige

Looking at one of the polls (more in common) it seems that the poeple who written the article are not telling the whole story.
Sure, if you only looked at the “very good job” column, Farage performed the best. But if you looked at the “very good job” and “quite good job” categories, the SNP, Labour, Lib Dems and Greens did better than Farage. Meanwhile Farage has the second highest proportion of people who either said he has done quite a “bad job” or “very bad job”.
So in actuality, I don’t think it is posssible to conclude that Farage “won” the debate.
Bare in mind that with these polls, people are just going to vote for their favourite candidate, regardless of how well they have actually done.

It’s easy to impress people as a populist because you only have to boil everything down to an easy ‘common sense’ solution that will supposedly fix everything that sounds impressive to the man at home that’s shouting at the TV “THAT’S WHAT I’VE BEEN SAYING ALL THIS TIME, FINALLY!!!!” as if he’s cracked the solution that all these dumb politicians haven’t been able to figure out, but Greg at home has.
E.G How to fix crime? Just stop and search! All these LEFTIES are just scared to fix the problem and search those ‘bad people’ (make sure to put emphasis on this phrase while practically dislocating your eye with the suggestive winking)
