    1. For the people who ain’t clicking on the link, here’s the translated version.

      >”As members of NATO, we are committed to strengthening Arctic security as a shared transatlantic interest. The pre-coordinated Danish exercise „Arctic Endurance“ conducted with Allies, responds to this necessity. It poses no threat to anyone.

      >We stand in full solidarity with the Kingdom of Denmark and the people of Greenland. Building on the process begun last week, we stand ready to engage in a dialogue based on the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity that we stand firmly behind.

      >Tariff threats undermine transatlantic relations and risk a dangerous downward spiral. We will continue to stand united and coordinated in our response. We are committed to upholding our sovereignty.”

It’s also on the site, but if yall don’t wanna click it, here u go.

A few years ago you would read this statement and you wouldn’t believe it was about the US. The reality is that they are no longer an ally or even a friend but a serious threat. If we as Europe must stand alone then at least we must stand united.

      A not-so-strongly worded letter.

This has a way to go before peak letter-sending has been achieved.

Edit: I guess the sarcasm in my comment isn’t being appreciated by everyone. Oh well.

    4. Steht ja nicht wirklich was neues drin.

    5. I wish more nations would join in, we need europe united in this.

If the UK can stand with Greenland while not having the group safety of the EU then any of us can. We’re either united against imperialism or we are vulnerable to it.

    6. The text in its entirety:

“As members of NATO, we are committed to strengthening Arctic security as a shared transatlantic interest.

    7. How about Denmark buys EU weaponry instead of F35s? Do they really think that F35s would function against the US? EU politicians are part of this disaster.

    8. The Ukrainians have also caught the Americans giving Russia intel on their planned manoeuvres.

“Interesting message on French newschannel LCI:
“Ukrainian intell services sent false strategic info to US intell services … and observed that the information had been relayed to RUS and was used by
      RUS forces.”
=> total replacement of US as Intell partner with FRA, GBR, DEU”

    9. I believe Trump sees Putin as his role model. He demanded a military parade in the USA after the parade in Moscow last year. He keeps talking as if the USA doesn’t need elections, and he would gladly like democracy not to exist, like in Russia, where everyone praises the tsar (and those who don’t are jailed). He uses the regular army for its own citizen opression. He even wants to show that he can take whatever land he wants.

As a Russian, it is funny to see how fast the US rolled back its democracy — basically to the Russian level of authoritarianism.

    10. I noticed the bundesregierung and bundeskansler uses a lot of social media from the US. Maybe do something about that too.

    11. I know this is trying to take a high road and just appease this guy until he leaves office/dies, but there’s no guarantee the Americans don’t vote in Vance after. If anything, it’s probably pretty likely.

Think this needs to be the accelerator to decouple ourselves as much as possible from the US for the long term stability of Europe.

Europe hasn’t really shown any power in any of the exchanges with Trump so far. This is more of the same. You can’t reason with this guy and it’s not unlikely the next president will be the same at this rate.

Wow! All of Northwestern Europe! Where is Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg and Ireland?

And other big European voices like Spain and Italy?

    13. Need to say Trump had everything to control Europe. Deluded leaders, that agree on US tariffs, who bought military equipment. Who would go to war.

Whatever happens the crack is there in NATO.

    14. TheBlueEyedLawyer on

I honestly believe the US is becoming the new Russia.

Europe needs to stand up and take charge.

#The Worst US President in my lifetime.

Just an absolute clusterfuxk of an administration.

    16. There is a Turkish proverb ,says ‘1 misfortune is better than 1000 pieces of advices ‘

İt means ,People learn best from their own misfortunes or experiences.

That’s all well and good, but EU leaders need to start thinking of the messages their actions are sending, more than their words.

Today Germany withdrew the troops they had sent on reconnaissance, citing their reconnaissance was complete. That may be true, but even if it is, to do this the day after Trump has threatened tarriffs on any country sending troops is such a bad look. Terrible messaging… keep them in place until the reinforcements arrive. It may not make the most sense rationally, but Trump is a master of the propaganda of the deed, and its high time the EU leader start to learn that actions speak louder than words.

    18. Macron is on the money, it’s time for the EU to deploy the Anti-Coercion Instrument aka the trade bazooka against the US.

The US is our enemy, not our friend.
