What a fucking moron. No one is saying that couples didn’t need to sacrifice, but that the ratio of salary to property cost has exploded, as has cost of living

She is an out of touch bitch. Basically saying that we all have to live lifestyles of beggars to afford a house.
She needs to know 4 things:
1. Her generation caused the mess we are living in, and only look after their own interests.
2. When her generation was in their 20s and 30s, there we less things that demand our money and was absolutely essential to pay for. The world has hyper commercialized and costs keep rising, but salaries don’t.
3. The rich always get richer. The middle class and poor don’t.
4. The younger adults are paying for the elderly so that they get state benefits, that keep rising in costs every year.

The only question is whether she’s involved with developers or the banks

So having the bank clutching your balls until u retire (IF u manage to retire).. to buy a matchbox which u need to fit a family in (IF u afford to grow a family)…work a job which over demanding on the middle class, giving half of your pay to the government which will then be given to lower class ppl (some actually need help but a lot are abusing it), and to pay pensions (of elderly who probably didn’t pay a cent in ‘bollol’)….
Don’t know about you, but what i mentioned is a minor part of all the bullshit we are currently facing, and it’s still far more than what our parents faced

What a midwit
1970s: Everyone was buying terraced houses, or getting one for free
2020s: Only rich people (or developers) are buying terraced houses, and loans are simply not enough to buy a fcken flat

The time when one salary and budgeting everything else for a while to afford a home is past. Now even two average incomes and economizing isn’t enough. How much is meat? Cheese? Bread? Milk? Eggs? Vegetables? Petrol? Clothing? Cleaning supplies? Do they factor in that inflation has risen way more than salaries? Only the wealthy can afford homes these days. Before the parents used to help the couple and many cannot do that anymore.
