The James Webb Space Telescope shows again why it is the most powerful instrument for observing the universe. This time, the telescope set its sights on one of the most iconic planetary nebulae – the Helix Nebula, often called the Eye of Sauron because of its distinctive shape. Located about 655 light-years from Earth, it is one of the closest and most photographed nebulae in the sky.
