After a few days of Swiss-German food, I may switch to bugs.”

    Honorary Ticinese citizenship.

Just joking, we don’t want him

  2. I don’t mind if they say what they think.

I’d just appreciate if the rest of the world would also tell them to their faces what we think: that the US administration is an embarrassment to the whole human race and that we have absolutely no interest in wasting a single second of our time on such contemptible people.

  3. Fine by me because it means more Swiss food for me when I visit from the UK and escape the US food slop that infects UK supermarkets.

  4. I won’t write the comment I had in mind because I would probably be hardware banned from reddit otherwise.

  5. Pure politics. They want to force more US-food to Switzerland as part of the „trade deal“, so of course he has to complain about Swiss food.

But honestly, I don’t give a sh*t about his food preferences.

  6. To be honest, the more fancy the Restaurant, the less tasty is the food.
At least at every high class event i ever was here in switzerland.
The menu allways has to be something crazy New, with extraordinary combinations, so it reads super special, but its allways meh at best.
I like to Cook more complex and fancy menu’s myself, so i’m open this stuff. But man do they like to Ruin good ingredients with strange compositions sometimes.

Nothing says « respectable » like criticizing your host food. What a bunch of despicable human beings, not one to save the other.

He‘s welcome to 1. fuck all the way off and 2. never step foot here again.

He should be glad the US delegation wasn’t served dog food.

American of Swiss decent here (my grandfather -my mother’s father was a Swiss national) who was raised by both and in a household where homemade Swiss dishes were served to us (I couldn’t understand why my school age friends never had fondue). I have visited relatives in Switzerland three times so far staying in Zurich, Basel and Luzerne and visiting family at their homes in Wetzikon who served their Swiss dishes to myself and my mom at a party there ).
My mom traveled with her parents as a child frequently to Switzerland too. I found everything I had there delicious and oh the cheese. Americans talk about fine cheeses they find at Whole Foods or specialty cheese shops in the US. I tell them you will never look at cheese the same way after you have tasted local cheeses in Switzerland. Absolutely nothing compares. Yes restaurants are expensive in Switzerland but everything in Switzerland is expensive. I guess too that if you don’t like organic foods or organically grown foods or like cheese, probably not going to like a lot of food in Switzerland.

  11. Swiss food is mid. But everything else about the country outweighs that by a long shot. Would sell my left nut to live there.

  12. Seriously? An American criticizing European food? They’re the ones with the orange cheese from a spray can, the inventors of fast food. The ones with the fattest people on earth, right?
