I found this in a book called "Finnish Folk Faith" by Risto Pulkkinen. Its on page 76 and talks about näcken, forest ranger(fairy?) and mermaid.

Does sound like an interesting book certainly 📖
I read a description about mermaids in a local history from around 1900. It said mermaids had such big and long buckets, that they could throw them over their shoulders.
