More than 115 million euros are planned to be invested for activities in kindergartens and schools under 24 national programs for the development of education. Their projects have already been published for public discussion on the website of the Ministry of Education and Science (MES), the department reports on its website.
In the new National Program (NP) “Inclusive and safe educational environment” emphasis is placed on support for students with learning difficulties. Included are activities related to the early recognition of learning difficulties, including dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia. Another module envisages support for continuing vocational training of young people with special needs. In this way, care will be provided for young people with sensory, intellectual and physical disabilities who, after completing the 12th grade, do not have access to appropriate forms of education, tailored to their specific needs and health status. The module also includes practice, rehabilitation, therapy and social support in a unified model, applied by a multidisciplinary team of pedagogical specialists, therapists and other professionals with specific expertise in working with people with disabilities.
With the implementation of the national programs in 2026, it is expected that the main educational policies implemented by the Ministry of Education and Culture will be supported, including those for affirming the inclusive nature of education, access for all children and students with a focus on vulnerable groups, affirming the competence approach with a change from learning to the functionality of students’ knowledge, promoting digitalization and innovation and acquiring key competences for lifelong learning, the Ministry of Education explains.
In May 2025, the government approved 25 national programs that were supposed to support key education policies in the next academic year. Three of them – “Future for Talent”, “Focus Skills” and “Security” were completely new.
