On the 23rd January 2026 I walk from the Knapsack Viaduct Trailhead 86 kilometres to Bondi Beach. It started around 2:10am on Friday and finished roughly 1:50am on Saturday. I finished in under 24 hours by 20 minutes and recorded over 100,000 steps. I stayed in a hotel in Penrith, ubering to the starting point and had my boyfriend pick me up at Bondi Beach

I think I saw a video on YouTube of somebody doing this recently and it was absolutely incredible stuff

    2. Walked from Liverpool to Bondi years ago, really thought I accomplished something.

      This is incredible 🙏

Big congratulations. This is truly huge and love that you’re pushing yourself. Here I am making excuses. You’ve just got me out the door today to walk and be mobile and do something. (not 86km)

      That’s amazing!

Do you regularly walk long distances? I am wondering how you’re feeling physically.

How did you decide the route? Maybe it’s because I am not familiar with Penrith and surrounds, it looked like you were taking long detours at some spots.

    5. Wow! Did you feel unsafe in any sections of the walk at night? If so, where and why? I often wonder who is out and about in the dark. It can be surprisingly busy out there.

    6. Impressive……and you’re a madman for doing it!

At least the end of the journey would have been very rewarding.

I hope you signed up to one of those sites that give you medals or something, cuz that’s a great way to rack up some milage.

    7. Why did you start at 2am? Wouldn’t you just be sleepy and exhausted right from the start?

    8. What was the thought behind a 2am start? Did you think you would take more/less time?

Just seems a bit odd ending at 1:50am in Bondi too.

I assume that there was logic around it though, maybe not wanting to walk through a full night (all at once), or getting through certain areas before light?

I love this. Congrats. I’d love to start taking on more random challenges like this because why the hell not!!

    10. That’s very impressive, but (as a lifelong sydneysider) WHY? there are so many beautiful 90km walks in NSW, why would anyone do this?

    11. That’s a lot of time on your feet!

What did you do for food? Did you buy stuff along the way, or did you mostly carry it with you? If the former, did you plan the food stops ahead?

Follow-up question: how did you navigate?

      Congrats!, awesome effort!

I saw in another comment you’re running out of routes in Sydney. I can recommend Bondi to Manly: 80 km along the harbour, reasonably well marked, stunning views all the way. https://www.bonditomanly.com/

    12. I’m a pretty avid walker and clocked 1700kms last year. But my longest single walk ever is about 17k’s I think so I tip my hat and then some.

This is another level OP. Well done

    13. When I saw the headline my first thought was “What?? Today?? In this heat??!” But was then relieved to read the rest!

Seriously, that’s a great achievement. I want to start walking more regularly this year and over longer distances, and this is exactly the thing to motivate me. Kudos.

Very inspiring and what a great way to see our city in a different way.

I’m going to have to do that this week. See you all out there!

This really proves my favourite saying true: anywhere is walking distance, if you have the time.

    16. Hey look, my house!

In all seriousness, this is amazing. I did Sydney Marathon a couple of years ago, and 42kms had me absolutely wrecked. Huge kudos.
