What happened in those 42 chats that none of them were converted to dates?
Jaxxlack on
Lol just be less you and less this and that and more of what no one knows.
jxl180 on
Out of 42 chats you couldn’t get a single first date in person? 🤨
There’s def something odd going on here. I set a date after ~5 messages because no one wants a penpal and how people act over text is usually very different than in person.

Might as well have made it a spreadsheet, boss

I feel like all these sankey diagrams are biased because of the kind of person who makes a sankey diagram of their dating.
A_Bit_Of_Nonsense on
Not trying to be funny here but if you got no dates in a year of activity on dating apps, you really need to maybe work on why that is.
Seems like its just a massive waste of your energy if you arent trying to fix any underlying problems.

So..you don’t know how to have a conversation online. It’s a skill and it can be improved. At least you know what to work on!

This such a shit diagram I cant lol! Fix your data structure then try again OP.

I think you have very bad conversion rates, I had around the same stats when I was dating last year, and out of 42 chats then maybe 10 of them would result in a date
davepage_mcr on
That’s ~10 likes a day on Tinder, 1/day on Hinge. Seems like you’re trying to play the numbers rather than concentrate on quality (including the quality of yourself).

Your success rate on Hinge is way higher, just delete Tinder
derrick2462 on
I deleted Tinder five years ago after getting just one date in an entire year of using it. From what I can see now, the app has only gotten worse. Wow. Just don’t use it. It’s a complete waste of time. And never pay for premium.

The 0 dates might be disappointing, but rest assured, 60 matches are a lot. Don’t feel bad. Only the top percentage of dudes get matches on these apps and you are part of them.

Any sane person would drop tinder and focus on hinge

This presentation of data is horrible. There’s no flow and the data points are shotgun blasted everywhere. I don’t even know what you’re trying to show 2/10

the stats favour dumping tinder and maybe switching to a more specific dating app in it’s plice, while keeping hinge as it seems to work until the chats.
maybe chats / no chats needs a new category: “No reply after text sent”. maybe your openers are too much, too little, idk. this is harder than physics sometimes.
Not sure if it still has people in there, but i have friends that had decent success with OkCupid in ze past.

Never used dating apps (I have been with the same girl for 17 years), but those numbers are insane. After a few tries I would have quit, you swiped almost 4000 times, this is insane.

This isn’t an online dating sub, but it seems OP needs to know this so maybe it’ll help other people as well. If you get a match with someone then set up a meeting almost immediately. I usually do it within the first four or five messages. I just got on Hinge a few days ago and I’ve had three dates in a row.

I don’t understand why the average person even uses these kind of apps anymore, it must be utterly crushing the self esteem of teens and early-20s crowds.
Like if you just cold approached random strangers in a bar or a bookshop or something you’d have to be the ugliest and least personable human on Earth to go zero for 4000 for even something as simple as a coffee date, but on Tinder that’s just how it goes for someone who ~~I assume is a perfectly average person.~~ Edit: just saw the selfie, someone who is genuinely quite good looking and has a nice smile.

Dating apps like Tinder have literally admitted their goal is to keep you single so you continue using the app and pay to upgrade to the “gold” or whatever their membership plans are. I don’t see why people still use these apps when there are so many posts like yours out there proving that nothing usually comes out of them anymore these days. I met my now-wife in a video game lobby.
Hobbies > Dating apps any day of the week if you’re actually looking for someone. It’ll happen naturally.

Matches my experience (male) on OKC. Dating apps are just money collecting machines from desperate men. The companies live off of that desperation, they don’t want to decrease it.

Don’t know if you’re looking for advice but:
1) Delete Tinder
2) You’re going pretty well on Hinge, I’d recommend asking for a date within the first 24 hours of chatting. You either get a yes or a no. Either way, it protects your time and sanity.

I would suggest to completely separate hinge from tinder and have separate graphs. You do in anyways, but split it up again.
