  1. What averaging system was used? There are quite a few ways to measure central tendency in colorspace.

  2. Nice.

Every angle will have a different color.

Btw, interesting choice to show the american side, while usually europe/ africa are positioned in the middle.

The Cosmic Foundation: Understanding the Saptamsa Chart (D7)

The Saptamsa chart, also known as the D7 chart, is a divisional chart in Vedic astrology that specifically focuses on progeny and the qualities of children. It is derived from the main natal chart and is constructed by dividing each sign into seven equal parts, leading to a deeper understanding of family dynamics and the potential of future generations.

well this makes sense because earth is more water than it is earth, but “average color” doesn’t amount to anything in terms of numerical value

  5. One of the things I found most interesting is that humans used to describe the planet primarily as “green” in texts before the 20th century. Then, when we achieved space flight, especially after the famous Blue Marble photo from NASA, we all collectively accepted that the planet was “blue” (with a lot of green areas). Because no human had ever seen the planet from space and had only ever viewed it from their own homo sapien point of view, we all kinda thought that it was “green”. I first ran across this concept in H.G. Wells books.

  6. How does this account for seasons or weather like cloud coverage? Is it averaged over a year or what? I’d be far more interested in the range of average color, or maybe the range of each of the 4 colors (blue, green, tan, white) of which it is composed.
